Elaine Shell

Elaine started work at Jacobs as an office junior upon leaving college in 1979. Within a few months she became secretary to Miss Sue Harrop in the family department and it was here that she developed her interest in Family Law.

Wanting to understand more about why things were done the way they were, Elaine enrolled with the Institute of Legal Executives and progressed through their training scheme until eventually qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. However, because of changes effecting rights of audience in lower level family courts, Elaine decided to advance her education further and followed a part time Law Degree and LPC. course at Liverpool John Moores University leading to her eventual qualification as a solicitor.

Elaine’s main passion is helping people with Family law problems, whether this be a divorce; finance ; children related problems or injunction issues. In addition  Elaine assists in the Private Client department by advising in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney; Wills and Probate matters. She is also able to advise in relation to Change of Name deeds and small claim court debts.

Outside of the office the majority of Elaine’s time is spent participating in one of her musical activities or, in her kitchen baking.
